About The Role

Are you passionate about using your Python skills to develop customized Mass Spectrometry (MS) data solutions? Do you thrive in a highly international and dynamic working environment? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you!

We are the Genedata Expressionist professional services development team. Our mission is to design, develop, test, and deliver customer-specific data processing, reporting, integration and automation software solutions. As a Python Scientific Software Developer, you will collaborate with a diverse team of experts to create tailored solutions for the top 25 biopharma companies.

This full-time position is located at our Munich (Germany).

Your Responsibilities

  • Understanding Customer Needs: Gather and comprehend customer requirements.
  • Defining Requirements: Write user and functional requirements documentation.
  • Implementation: Lead the creation of technical specifications and implement it as robust solutions using Python and the Genedata Expressionist API.
  • Code Quality Assurance: Conduct unit, regression, and release testing, and perform code reviews ensuring the highest level of software quality, efficiency and robustness.
  • Leadership by Example: You will inspire your peers through your work ethic, dedication, and commitment to our mission. Your actions will set the standard for excellence within our team.
  • Knowledge Sharing: Exchange knowledge and experience with your team members to enable personal growth.

Skills & Experience

  • Education: PhD or MSc in bioinformatics, computer science, physics or related fields
  • Experience:
    • At least 3 years of professional experience in scientific software development, preferably in a team environment
    • Strong Python skills and experience developing projects with Python. You should have a deep understanding of the language and its libraries (e.g. pandas, numpy, matplotlib)
    • Experience in Mass Spectrometry, analytical chemistry, or related fields is desirable
    • Proficiency working within Linux/Unix and Windows server environments is a plus
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to break down complex problems and develop effective, scalable solutions.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English language. Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Team Player: Proven ability to work effectively in a multi-national global team environment
  • Quality Focus: Strong initiative and relentless dedication to delivering work of the utmost quality
